This Privacy Policy describes how Progressive Discount (“the App”) processes information when a merchant installs and uses the App on a Shopify store.

1. Information we process

The App may process the following data through Shopify APIs:

• Shop information — shop domain, shop ID, and app installation details required for authentication.
• Authentication tokens — offline/online access tokens stored so the App can call Shopify Admin APIs on the merchant’s behalf.
• Discount configuration — titles, tiers, labels, eligibility (collections/products/variants), schedule, combination settings, and optional customer segment IDs selected by the merchant.
• Plan & usage — the selected Shopify App Pricing plan handle, and monthly totals of paid-order revenue that included a Progressive Discount (order IDs used only for deduplication).

The App does not store customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details on our servers beyond what Shopify session records may include for staff authentication (if online tokens are used).

2. How we use information

• Authenticate the merchant and keep the embedded app secure.
• Create and manage progressive automatic discounts via Shopify Functions.
• Comply with Shopify mandatory GDPR webhooks.

3. Data storage and retention

Session and installation data are stored in the App’s database hosted by our infrastructure provider. When a shop uninstalls the App, or when Shopify sends a shop/redact webhook, we delete stored sessions for that shop. Discount configurations live primarily in Shopify as discount metafields owned by the merchant’s store.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with Shopify as needed to operate the App, and with our hosting provider for infrastructure.

5. Merchant rights

Merchants can uninstall the App at any time. We honor Shopify’s mandatory webhooks for customer data requests and redaction. Because the App does not maintain a separate customer database, those requests are acknowledged as having no additional stored customer records beyond Shopify sessions.

6. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
